The Art Center is proud to present its latest acquisition: 'Bosch's last supper?'. Artist Boris van de Grint painted a large and spectacular panel with a width of more than three meters. The background is directly borrowed from Da Vinci's Last Supper. For this supper Van de Grint (1968) replaced Christ with Jheronimus Bosch and the human and demonic creatures invented by Bosch. Together they form a surreal scene full of recognizable references. ----
In the key scene Death pours Bosch a goblet of poisoned wine. All those present are anxiously watching whether Bosch will drink from it. Hence the question in the title. Will this be Bosch's Last Supper? Visit the Art Center and marvel at the pictorial richness of its latest acquisition.
